Tibet Shisapangama Trek is considered as one of most scenic and secluded trek in comparison to other trip in Tibet. Shisapangama contemplated as the hidden jewel in Tibet, is located west of Everest and tucked behind the Langtang range. 5 days round trek to Shisapangama allows you to unlock the well-kept secret of Tibet and explore the exceptional beauty it offers. Apart from spectacular mountain views, travelers have opportunity to explore art, culture and incomparable history of the region.
Trekking to Shisapangama is easier as there are no high passes to cross. However, the landscapes and scenery along the way can’t be matched with any other Himalayan trek. Due to its relative inaccessibility and remoteness, this area remained isolated and untouched and very few trekkers has explored this area till date.
Shisapangama, meaning the grassy plain in Tibetan dialect, is located to south-central Tibet, five kilometer from the border with Nepal. With an elevation of 8,027m, it is the youngest of the highest peaks in the world and only 8,000+ peak located completely within Chinese territory. The southeast side of Shishapangama is likely to receive some rain most nights from June to early September due to monsoon that manages to push over the Jugal Himalayan range. But most of day are clear and we discover the nourishing lush meadows and spectacular displays of wildflowers high into the mountains.
Trekking to Base Camp of Shisapangama is combined with an exotic journey to Lhasa, the heat and soul of Tibet. After completing round trip to Shisapangama, we procced for overland journey towards Lhasa driving via Shigatse and Gyangtse. We explore numerous monasteries, quaint villages and other exotic sites.
