Trip Overview

Mardi Himal Trek is perfect for those seeking for “beaten off” trekking experience in less-trodden part of Annapurna region. It is relatively untouched and probably less frequented trekking peaks in Nepal. Located just east of popular Annapurna Base Camp Trek, Mardi Himal trekking is truly a hidden gem.

The trekking trail to Mardi Himal follows small winding paths and forested route of miraculous rhododendron until we climb high up the forest at an elevation of 3,300m. The landscapes during the trek changes suddenly; from lush green forest to rugged high mountain landscapes with stunning view of giant peaks like Mardi Himal, Machhapuchhre (fish tail), Annapurna South and Hiunchuli. The trail negotiates several steep ridges and after some strenuous climb, we reach High Camp and Mardi Himal Base Camp on the following day. The complete panorama of Annapurna rage is visible from the upper view point, located 3 hours beyond from Mardi Himal Base Camp.

There are basic teahouse and homestays along the Mardi Himal trekking route. Alpine Kailash offer both teahouse and camping mode trekking with professional team of guide and porter and all the necessary equipment.

Best season

The best season to trek Mardi Himal is mid-September to November during autumn and March to May during spring. The sky remains clear and views are excellent. If wish to trek in December to February, we suggest you to check the availability of teahouse as it remains closed in winter due to extreme cold and snowfall.
