Day 01: Flight: Kathmandu (1,300m) – Lhasa (3650m)

After early morning breakfast, drive to Tribhuvan International Airport to catch a flight from Kathmandu to Lhasa. Upon your arrival at Lhasa airport, our airport representative will meet you outside the terminal hall and transfer you to the hotel at Lhasa.

Day 02: Lhasa: Sera Monastery; Jokhang temple & Barkhor street

After breakfast, we set for exploration of Lhasa city, the capital of Tibet. Sera monastery is the second largest Gelupa monastery located in the north suburb of Lhasa, which was built in 1419. Likewise, we visit Jokhang temple, one of the oldest temple in Tibet which was built by the 33rd king Sontsanganbu in the 7th century. We also explore ancient Barkhor Street, the middle pilgrimage circuit around Jokhang temple.

Day 03: Lhasa: Potala Palace; Norbulingka

After breakfast, we proceed to visit Potala Palace and Norbulingka. Potala, the winter palace of Dalailama was built in 7th century by Tibetan king Sotsen Gampo. It was reconstructed by the 5th Dalai Lama to the present size by the in 17th century. Norbulingka was built in 18th century by the 17th Dalailama and the Jewel Park was the Dalai Lama’s summer palace which covers 100 acres land with palace, pavilions and a zoo.

Day 04: Drepung Monastery

Built in 1416, Drepung Monastery is the biggest Gelupa monastery located to the west suburb of Lhasa. This monastery is extended to an area of 250,000 square meters that houses 7,700 monks in total and possessed 141 fazendas and 240 pastures in its heyday.

Day 05: Final Departure

Your 5 days Lhasa fly in fly out comes to an end today. After breakfast, Alpine Kailash’s airport representative will transfer you to the airport for your final departure.
