Kathmandu and Pokhara Tour – 07 Days

After breakfast, we set for full day guided tour around Kathmandu. We visit the ancient monumental and heritage sites that are protected by UNESCO world heritage site. First, we explore Kathmandu Durbar Square, the Palace of an ancient King of Nepal and also visit “Kumari”, the living goddess. Next, we drive towards Swayambhunath Stupa located half an hour away from Durbar Square.

Swayambhunath, 2000 years old monkey temple, is perched over the ridge of small ridge that overlooks the entire Kathmandu valley and verdant hills surrounding the valley. Afterwards, we visit Pashupatinath, one of major religious sites for Hindu.

Although entering inside the main gate of temple is strictly prohibited, we can enjoy the view of temple and on-going religious activities from the vantage point located near the bank of Bagmati River. After exploration, we proceed for Boudhanath stupa, one of the largest stupa in Nepal. It is major spiritual spot for Tibetan Buddhist. We then drive back to hotel and rest overnight.

After breakfast, we move towards Patan Durbar Square, one of the important UNESCO world heritage sites. It is an ancient royal palace of Lalitpur kings and is a marvel of Newari architecture. We also explore Krishna temple, Bhimsen temple, Taleju Bhawani temple and Bhiswonath temple in Patan.

Afterwards, our city guide will lead you to Bhaktapur, an ancient city full of centuries-old palace, temples and monumental sites. Here we explore Bhaktapur Durbar Square, one of highly visited UNESCO World Heritage Sites, 55 windows palace, golden gate, lion’s gate, Natyapola temple and Bhairava Nath Temple. After exploration, we drive back to hotel and make necessary preparation for next day’s trip.

After breakfast, we drive towards Pokhara following the bank of Trishuli River. Pokhara, the city of lakes, is one of most-visit touristic hub in Nepal and major gateway to Annapurna region trekking. Pokahra offers the amazing views of mountains including five peaks of Annapurna, Dhaulagiri, Machhapuchhre and Manaslu.

After hotel check in and short refreshment, we set for half-day sightseeing tour around Pokhara valley.  We drive to explore Davis Falls which flows directly into a narrow and deep canal which has no end. Further we visit Shiva Cave (located nearby Davis Fall), a sacred Hindus sites that houses shrine dedicated to Lord Shiva.

Today we make pre-dawn drive to Pokhara for sunrise view. The view of sunrise and mountain range from Sarangkot hill is truly amazing. After breakfast, we drive back to Pokhara valley to enjoy boating in Phewa Lake, the largest lake in Pokhara and visit Tal Barahi Temple located at an Island of the Lake.

We also visit famous International Mountain Museum (IMM) that displays the past and present development in mountaineering activities in the world. In the late afternoon, we tour around Tibetan refugee camp to explore the daily activities of people who keep themselves busy in producing and trading woolen carpets and other handicraft items.

After breakfast, we drive back to the Kathmandu along the bank of Marshyangdi and Trishuli River. These two rivers are famous for white water river rafting in Nepal. We drive to hotel and rest for refreshment. In the evening, we attend farewell dinner organized by Alpine Kailash in typical Nepali restaurant with cultural shows.
