Highlights of Nepal – 10 Days

After breakfast, we set for full day sightseeing of Kathmandu valley. We explore the UNESCO world heritage sites in Kathmandu that includes Kathmandu Durbar Square (the palace of ancient king who ruled over Kathmandu kingdom), Pashupatinath (the sacred pilgrim site of Hindu), Swayambhunath (2,000 years old monkey temple) and Boudhanath (largest Buddhist monastery). We drive back to the hotel and make necessary preparation for the trek.

After early morning breakfast, we drive towards Chitwan that is located 175 km far from Kathmandu. We drive through the winding route along the bank of Trishuli River. Upon arrival at Chitwan, we drive to hotel in Chitwan National Park. After hotel refreshment and short refreshment, our team guide will provide brief description on Chitwan National Park tour. We then enjoy a refreshment walk on the bank of the Rapti River and witness fascinating sunset in the sub-tropical jungle.

After breakfast, we set for elephant back safari through dense grasslands to discover exotic wildlife in their natural environment. We also explore elephant stables and also enjoy elephant bathing too.
After lunch, we drive deep into the jungle followed by canoe ride down the Rapti River. We get close glimpse of Gharial and Mugger crocodiles along with various water animals like dolphin, otters and variety of water birds.

After breakfast, we leave Chitwan National Park behind and drive towards Pokhara, the city of lake. We drive through winding roads with frequent switchbacks. The driving trail follows the subtropical forest and fertile vegetation in Chitwan and further continues through the forested hills, villages and terraced farms. Upon arrival at Pokhara, we get the fascinating glimpse of Himalayas- Dhaulagiri (8,167m), Manaslu (8,156m), Machhapuchhre (6,993m) and five tantalizing peaks of Annapurna. After hotel check-in and short refreshment, we stroll around the street of Lakeside.

After early morning breakfast, we set for Sarangkot hill hike located to north-west part of Pokhara city. It overlooks the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri ranges to the north and Pokhara valley to the south. We begin our hike from Naudanda from where we hike for 3-4 hours uphill through small settlements. We stop at hotel in Sarangkot and enjoy the alluring view of sunset over the Himalayan horizon.

Today we wake-up early in the morning to enjoy sunrise view. The sunrise view over the Himalayan horizon is truly breathtaking. After exploration, we head back to Pokhara and make excursion to the major landmarks of the city.

We drive to explore Davis Falls which flows directly into a narrow and deep canal which has no end. Further we visit Shiva Cave (located nearby Davis Fall), a sacred Hindus sites that houses shrine dedicated to Lord Shiva. Next we enjoy boating in Phewa Lake, the largest lake in Pokhara and visit Tal Barahi Temple located at an Island of the Lake.

We also visit famous International Mountain Museum (IMM) that displays the past and present development in mountaineering activities. In the evening, we tour around Tibetan refugee camp to explore the daily activities of people who keep themselves busy in producing and trading woolen carpets and other handicraft items.

After breakfast, we proceed for road journey to Nagarkot. The maximum part of journey follows the river banks with stunning views of hills and rural Nepalese lifestyle. From Kathmandu, we drive towards Nagarkot, a small village located at outskirt of Kathmandu valley. Upon arrival at Nagarkot, we enjoy the viewpoint’s cool breeze and watch the sunset amidst the Himalayas.

Today we wake up early in the morning to enjoy the amazing sunrise view amidst of Himalayas. After breakfast, we drive downhill to Bhaktapur where we explore ancient landmarks that dates back to centuries. Bhaktapur is quaint settlement filled with full of authentic local lifestyle preserved over centuries.

We explore Nyata-Pola Temple, the Golden Gate, Water Spout, Changunarayan (UNESCO heritage site) and 55 Window Palace. This tour provides an ambiance of the magical outdoor theater.

Later, we drive to Patan where we visit Patan Durbar Square (UNESCO protected world heritage site). This palace is rich in ancient artss and architecture. In the evening, we drive to the hotel at Kathmandu and attend a farewell dinner organized by Alpine Kailash to celebrate the successful completion of the trek.
