Day 01: Drive: Kathmandu – Charaundi (85km/3 hours), the starting point of rafting – Kurinighat

After breakfast, drive by tourist coach to the west of Kathmandu to the rafting put-in point at Charaundi. We drive through amazing landscapes out of Kathmandu valley and cross several cultivated fields and scattered settlements. We drive 800m downhill to reach the village of Charaundi located at the bank of Trishuli.

Before starting the rafting trip, every rafter will be fitted with a life-jacket and helmet. The rafting leaders will provide you a lesson on river safety, paddling technique and what to do in case of emergency. On first day of raft, you will enjoy Class I to Class III rapids.

Two hours of raft takes to the beach with strange shaped boulders that resemble sculpture and we stop here for lunch. Taking lunch nearby the river in an open land is always remarkable experience.

After lunch, we paddle further and eventually encounter a large gorge, the Trishuli gorge. It is narrow and the walls are very steep causing the river to accelerate through it. It is most adventure experience of entire trip.

Rafting further along the pace of river takes you to a very old suspension bridge. Here you encounter crowds of locals chattering with excitement as they see you rafting on wild Trishuli River. Finally at the end of the day, we reach our camping site at Kurinighat.

Day 02: Rafting Ends at Simaltal and drive back to Kathmandu

The second day rafting trip in Trishuli is comparatively leisurely pace. After breakfast, you leave Kurnighat behind and raft ahead. There are numerous exciting rapids, gorges and the views are incredible. We enjoy the incredible view of emerald hillsides, cultivated fields and scattered settlements.

After one and half hours of raft, we reach the confluence of Trishuli and Marshyangdi. Marshyangdi is another famous river for rafting in Nepal. It is more technical than Trishuli so it is center for avid rafter. The trip doesn’t end here, we raft further down to reach a place called Tea pot. This amazing river trip ends here, we drive back to Kathmandu or head down to Chiwan for Jungle Safari Tour.
