Annapurna Sanctuary Trek is one spectacular trekking in the foot hill of south face of Annapurna I through the diverse and stunning landscapes. The trekking route to Annapurna sanctuary passes through diverse climatic zone from sub-tropical to alpine. The vegetation throughout the trail changes accordingly offering trekkers’ wonderful opportunity to explore variety of floral and faunal species. Moreover, trekkers get privilege to discover many ethnic and cultural tribe living in remote corner of Nepal. It is like travelling through live and open museum.

14 days Annapurna Sanctuary Trek starts from Nayapul; cross riverbeds and terrace fields before immersing deep into the cluster of rhododendron and oak forest to the beautiful settlement of Gurung. Annapurna Sanctuary Trek is renowned for its grand natural amphitheater as it present some of world’s best and dramatic natural wonders. The predawn hike from Ghorepani village to the Poon Hill ridge (3,210m) ensures you the great sunrise view and tantalizing Annapurna and Dhaulagiri ranges.

The trail continues north following the beautiful and verdant Modi Khola valleys. The valley is engrossed with soaring peaks and high rock wall with spectacular waterfall flowing down to the river. Climbing through fascinating Machhapucchre Base Camp, we make a gradual ascend to Annapurna Base Camp. Base Camp features the gigantic and close view of Hiuchuli, Annapurna South, Annapurna I, Annapurna III, Gangapurna, Machhapuchhare and several 6,000+ peaks.

We descend via the route of Jhinu Danda where you soothe at natural hot spring to ease our tiring muscles and get relaxed. We enjoy the true panorama of mid-hill scenery along with captivating culture of local people.

Annapurna Sanctuary Trek itinerary is perfect for who seeking to hike Annapurna Base Camp in a comfortable manner with visit to USESCO world heritage sites and famous Poon Hill ridge. Autumn (September to November) and spring (March to May) are the time of year trekking in Annapurna Sanctuary.

Day 05: Ghorepani – Tadapani (2,700m/8,860ft) via Poon Hill (3,210m/10,529ft) – 6-7 hours trek

Day 06: Tadapani – Chhomrong (2,170m/7,120ft) – 6 hours trek

Day 07: Chhomrong – Bamboo (2,310m/7,578ft) – 4-65 hours trek

Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu, Tribhuvan International Airport (1,300m/4,265ft)

Upon you arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport, Alpine Kailash Representative will meet you at arrival gate of airport. He will escort you to your hotel via private vehicle. Today, you will meet your trekking guide, get trek briefing and prepare yourself for trekking.
In evening, you will attend welcome dinner organized by Alpine Kailash and stay overnight at hotel.

Day 02: Kathmandu: Exploration and trek preparation day

After breakfast, we begin our guided tour to several historic, antique and spiritual site in Kathmandu which are protected by UNESCO world heritage sites. Today, we explore quaint Durbar Square, Pashupatinath (Hindu Temple), Swayambhunath (2,000 years old monkey temple) and Boudhanath (largest Buddhist stupa). After sightseeing of UNESCO designated world heritage sites, we drive back to hotel and get our trekking gears checked by our trekking leader and discuss about the trip Alpine Kailash’s office.

Day 03: Kathmandu – Pokhara flight and trek to Ulleri (2,050m/6,725ft) – 30 minutes flight and6 hours trek

After breakfast, we take an early flight to Pokhara. The 30 minute flight to Pokhara allows you to savor the beauty of Himalayan vistas, lush vegetation, small villages and rivers. We can explore the mighty view of Dhaulagiri, Manaslu, Machhapuchhare and Annapurna massifs. Upon arrival at Pokhara, we take a rest for a while and drive to Nayapul, the starting point of the trek. We start our trekking through the forested route, cross Burundi Khola (river) before entering into the village of Tikhedhunga village. The trail route to Ulleri comprises thousands of steps and boulderstaht indeed tests your stamina. We finally reach Ulleri by late afternoon where we rest overnight.

Day 04: Ulleri – Ghorepani (2,750m/9,020ft) – 4-5 hours trek

After breakfast, we start our journey to Ghorepani village ascending via stone stairs. As we start gaining height, we start admiring the Annapurna south and alpine landscapes. We traverse through the waterfalls, small villages and teahouses before entering into the Ghorepani village. We halt at upper part of Ghorepani which allows us to view the incredible south and Nilgiri peaks. Ghorepani village has small shop which sells who local made handbags and craft.

Day 05: Ghorepani – Tadapani (2,700m/8,860ft) via Poon Hill (3,210m/10,529ft) – 6-7 hours trek

Today, we make a pre-dawn hike to Poon Hill to enjoy the captivating sunrise view of the Himalayan horizon. Poon Hill ridge is also popular viewpoint to enjoy the close-up view of Annapurna and Dhaulagiri ranges. It also commands the majestic view of Mustang, Pokhara and more than 20 snowy peaks. After exploring and capturing photos, we retrace back to Ghorepani, where we take a breakfast. We start trekking east and climb a ridge. Further, descending through the forested route of rhododendron and waterfalls, we finally reach Tadapani.

Day 06: Tadapani – Chhomrong (2,170m/7,120ft) – 6 hours trek

At first section of the trail, we drop off through the large forest of rhododendron until the forested trail ends. The trail further widens up to the beautifully terraced fields. Now, we ascend for about 5 km and cross suspension bridge. Few hours of uphill and downhill hiking, we finally reach the warm village of Chhomrong. The village resides right below the gigantic Annapurna massif.

Day 07: Chhomrong – Bamboo (2,310m/7,578ft) – 4-65 hours trek

Today, we leave Chhomrong behind and hike via stone steps until we reach Chhomrong Khola. We cross suspension bridge and start ascending to Sinuwa. The trail crosses through the forest route of Kuldihar. From Khuldihar, we follow the fairly easy path that climbs down to Bamboo.

Day 08: Bamboo – Deurali (3,230m/10,595ft) – 3-4 hours trek

After breakfast, we start our journey through the bamboo forest that is damp and cold. We then ascend uphill which sometimes encounter steep section. After Himalayan hotel, the trail opens up and we enjoy the sun again with eye-catching view of Himalayan vistas. The vegetation starts getting thinner and spare from here and you can alpine landscapes along with the magical valleys, waterfalls and Mountain Rivers.

Day 09: Deurali – Annapurna Base Camp (4,130m/13,545ft) via Machhapuchhre Base Camp (3,700m/12,135ft) – 5-6 hours trek
After breakfast, we join a valley trail in a steady climb. The trail sometimes sticks to the rocky cliff and sometime gets steep. From Machhapucchre Base Camp, we get mesmerizing view of Mt. Hiunchuli, Annapurna south, Annapurna I, Annapurna III, Gandharvachui and Gangapurna mountains.
We turn left and join a trailhead that leads us to Annapurna Base Camp. During the ascend, we admire the panorama of Himalayan vistas. Treading for few hours through grassy slopes, we finally reach Annapurna Base Camp. Here, we are surrounded by the magnificent peaks.

Day 10: Annapurna BC – Bamboo – 7-8 hours trek

After enjoying the sunrise, we descend back via Machhapuchhre Base Camp, Deurali until Bamboo. Today trek is quite long, the downhill hike makes it quite easy.

Day 11: Bamboo – Jhinu Danda (1,760m/5,770ft) – 5-6 hours trek

Today, we retrace our step until Chhmorong where we stop for lunch. From Chomrong, we descend steeply down to the Modi Khola valley. The stone steps at Chhomrong are quite tricky. We descend down to Jhinu Danda and rest overnight.

Day 12: Jhinu Danda – Nayapul and drive back to Pokhara – 6 hours trek, 1 hour drive

Today, we leave Jhinu Danda behind and descend down enjoy the stunning hilly landscapes, forest and villages. Hike for several hours, we reach Nayapul – the ending point of the trek. We board our vehicle that drives us back to hotel in Pokhara.

Day 13: Pokhara – Kathmandu flight

After breakfast, we drive to Pokhara airport to catch a flight to Kathmandu. Upon arrival at Kathmandu, we drive back to our hotel and take day rest off. We stroll around bustling city Thamel and catch a last minute shopping.
In the evening, we attend farewell dinner organized by Alpine Kailash in typical Nepali restaurant.

Day 14: Final Departure

Your trip with Alpine Kailash ends today. We will escort you to Tiribhuvan International Airport for your final departure
